Beef Progeny Test Field Days

Wednesday 5th July 2017

By the end of this year, the B+LNZ Genetics Beef Progeny Test will have produced three crops of calves.

Progeny from the first crop will be either processed or within the breeding cow herd (and have produced the first calves of their own). The second crop will have weaning and yearling weights analysed and the third crop will be on their mothers.

CABERFEIDH - Tuesday 8 August 10am-3:30pm

TAUTANE STATION - Tuesday 15 August 10am-3:30pm
398 Tautane Road, Dannevirke

The field days will focus on:

• Latest results: including growth, heifer fertility and carcass ultrasound (EMA)
• A demonstration of carcass ultrasound (EMA) in live steers
• A demonstration of structural assessment in live steers
• New traits and opportunities from the trial.

Progeny test calves will be on display. The afternoon includes a farm tour (4WD’s, no quads).
